About Us

Eastleigh And Southampton District Aquarist Society was created (around thirty years ago!) so that aquarists in the Eastleigh and Southampton area have an opportunity to meet up and share their beloved hobby (keeping tropical fish, for those who were wondering!). We meet at 7.30pm on the first and third Tuesday evening of each month at The Good Companions Pub, Leigh Road, Eastleigh. We hold regular discussions, as well as lectures and slide shows by leading aquarists. We also hold an annual open show, where prizes are awarded for the best fish in a wide range of classes. We also visit other societies’ shows and have regular shopping trips, looking for bargains and interesting finds. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced fishkeeper why not come along to one of our meetings – you will be made most welcome! Feel free to look at our photos page where you will find pictures of many prize-winning fish taken at open shows around the country. The Federation of British Aquatic Societies is our parent organisation – you can find out more about them by visiting their website at www.fbas.co.uk.
